SHIM’S RIDE

Shim’s Ride is a community cycling event, raising money for spinal cord injury research through merchandise sales, event participation and direct donations.

I led the creative direction and designed a collection of products that contributed to $100,000 raised for the cause in 2025.

Pixel Pony

I developed a cohesive brand identity and visual theme that helped build strong buy-in within the cycling community, contributing to increased donations, merchandise sales, and event registration.

The identity was designed to work across a wide range of applications, from technical apparel and merchandise to social media and print, while maintaining a consistent and recognizable visual language.

Media

I collaborated with photographer Jay Wallace and videographer Mitch Kaiser to produce professional photo and video content for marketing and social media, helping bring the event and its visual identity to life.

Axon Jersey

I designed a new cycling jersey model with Jakroo, developed specifically for Shim’s Ride.

The jersey uses a single-panel construction, creating a clean, streamlined appearance while improving comfort across the shoulders in the aerodynamic riding position by minimizing seams.

Key design details included:

Laser-perforated pocket: A perforated logo offers an interesting non-sublimated branding element and provides additional ventilation through the lower back.
Reflective heat-transfer logo: A reflective logo on the “car side” (left shoulder) adds a safety element while becoming an intentional part of the overall design.

CLO validation:

Graphic placement was validated in CLO to ensure heat-transfer logos remained clear of sublimated graphics across the full size range.

Bib Short

I designed a new bib short for Jakroo, introducing heat-transfer branding to the customizable apparel collection for the first time. Previously, customization was limited to sublimation.

This created a more refined, premium retail aesthetic while expanding the visual possibilities of the customizable product line.
